Using FOSS to teach start NOW Using the “Zoomers” experiment, from the first grade FOSS Kit, come up with ways that you would apply the experiment to NGSS Science Practices and our current standard. Discuss with your group. Current Standard: Investigate, observe, and describe objects moving a different speeds

Mathematical Practices - CCSS Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them Reason abstractly and quantitatively Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others Model with mathematics Use appropriate tools strategically Attend to precision Look for and make use of structure Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning
