  2. Introduction The Battle of Gettysburg was during the Civil War and lasted 3 hot days in the summer. The Union and Confederates met with the Union on Cemetery Ridge and the South attacking from the ground. Both armies suffered great losses, tens of thousands soldiers from both the North and the South died.

  3. What were the strengths and weaknesses of the North and South? The main strength of the North was their numbers. Their main weakness was their military leadership. The main strength of the South was its military leadership and also the size of the southern states. The weakness of the Confederates was their economy was not fit for a long Civil War.

  4. What Happened at Gettysburg? The battle lasted three days and on the second and third day the Confederates attacked the Union but the North stopped them and won.

  5. What were some strategies used at Gettysburg? The main strategies used at Gettysburg were Cemetery Ridge which the Union posted on which was great for high ground. Also on the third day when Lee ordered an all-out attack they almost broke the Union line.

  6. What were some key parts of the Battle of Gettysburg? Key parts of the battle was Lee’s charge on the Union, Lee’s surrender, and the Union taking the high ground.

  7. Why was the Battle of Gettysburg a Turning point in the Civil War? The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point because it gave northerners hope to win the war and motivated them. Also, more democrats were concerned about restoring peace than ending slavery.
