  3. Summary of War The battle of Gettysburg was a very big battle. Some even say it was the most casualties in American history. This war took place in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. With an army 75,000 soldiers strong general Lee had a big army although the army of 97,000 Union was stronger in size. For General John Buford this was to be an easy capture, but to is surprise there was to union brigades already there. While the confederates charged the unions stood their ground and held up to the confederates. While this was going on both sides notices they were running low on good troops. This was unlucky for the south because they couldn't call in reinforcements, the north could. So the north called in for fresh troops even though the wait may take quite sometime. Sadly while this was going on the north’s main general, General Reynolds, was shot in the head and killed. Then from there the north took victory with and iron fist. North won and sent the confederates a message Gettysburg is ours. General Lee was a by the book general and some say that is why the north won. So thanks to our leader Ulysses S. Grant we won the battle of Gettysburg and the American Civil War.

  4. Setting

  5. Facts The North had more railroads and they had many things being manufactured by their factories. The south had few railroads and no factories. They did make the cotton gin for income though. The North had a larger population then the south and the north could make many bullets from there large amount of resources, the south could not. South mainly got their goods from imports from other countries. There was a total of about 8,000 dead union and confederate soldiers after the battle of Gettysburg. The presidents were Abraham Lincoln (Union) and Jefferson Davis (Confederate). The North was against slavery and the South was for Slavery.
