  2. Daniel 4:3 “How great are His signs, how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an internal kingdom and His dominion endures from generation to generation.”

  3. Differences between generations are not new. We can lament the differences or articulate them, respond to them, and bridge the gap. Let’s learn to BRIDGE the GAP!

  4. The Gap • The Facts • Born between 1993 & 2007 • 97% have access to a computer/own a computer • 94% own a cell phone • 69% have a facebook account

  5. The Name • GENERATION Y

  6. The Big Picture • Never hear a busy signal • Never known life without internet • They multitask – a great priority on speed • View time as a 24h resource • Lack depth in research • Strong visual learners • Learn by doing rather by being told how to do • Conversational illiterates • Do not know how to deal with emotions

  7. The parent trap • Most child centric time • Smaller families predominate • Helicopter parents – hovering over school

  8. The description • Just do it • Money matters • Optimistic • Think locally, not globally • Play is the thing • Media mavens • Reverse accumulation of knowledge • Seek diversity

  9. Because students from Generation Y fill our schools, it is important for us to understand these students if we are to reach them with the Gospel and prepare them for a life of Christian service.

  10. The bridge • Switch to the language of VICTORY • An attempt to learn • A faith that is real • A transfer from life-to-life

  11. A passion shared • A real-life application • A role model and a mentor • A chance to do it
