  2. Establishing Residency • If you graduate from a high school in Virginia, but you family who live in Georgia, you don’t qualify for in-state tuition in Georgia*. • It depends on the state, and where the student has lived within the past 12 months.

  3. The Role of Step Parents and the FAFSA • Even if a step-parent has a legal agreement, that states he/she will not provide financial support, he/she still needs to use their financial info. • The student will need to contact their colleges/universities to let them know about the agreement

  4. More help on Parent Info • If the parents are unmarried, and do not live together, the student would use the parent who has provided the most financial support**. **Make sure to tell the truth 
