  2. Earth is an amazing planet. • Earth is the only planet known to support life. • The Earth's temperature, weather, atmosphere and many other factors are just right to keep us alive.

  4. Time on Earth Facts #2 A year isn’t 365 days it’s actually 365.2564 days. It’s this extra .2564 days that creates the need for leap years. That’s why we tack on an extra day in February every 4 years. #3 Earth does not take 24 hours to rotate on its axis. It’s actually 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds.

  5. #4 How deep Earth really is. • The inner core is the middle of the Earth. The inner core is 800 miles deep. • The outer core is the layer around the inner core. The outer core is 1,400 miles deep. • The mantle is the layer around the outer core. The mantle is 1,800 miles deep. • The crust is the very outside of the Earth. The crust is 5 to 25 miles deep.
