  1. ELEVENTH GRADE COURSE SELECTION PLANNING FOR YOUR SENIOR YEAR

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS • COMPLETE A MINIMUM OF 22 CREDITS IN THE REQUIRED SUBJECT AREAS • ENGLISH 4 UNITS • SOCIAL STUDIES 3 UNITS • MATH* 4 UNITS • SCIENCE 3 UNITS • PHYSICAL EDUCATION 1 UNIT (2 SEMESTERS) • HEALTH ½ UNIT • CAREER PATHWAY 3 UNITS * Must complete either Algebra II or Algebra with Trig. * Most 4 year colleges prefer that students complete 4 years in each core subject area. • PROGRESSING TO A SENIOR HOMEROOM • Earn a minimum of 18 credits • If you have less than 18 credits at the end of this year but can still meet graduation requirements, you will begin the year in a junior homeroom and be moved to a senior homeroom at the start of 2nd semester.

Please do not write these courses on your schedule if you plan to take them over the summer. Sign-up for summer PE and Health will be announced later in the year.

  11. LAST BUT NOT LEAST • Have parent/guardian review and sign schedule. • You will meet with your counselor on either Thursday, Feb. 18 or Friday, Feb. 19. Be ready to turn your signed schedule in on that day. • Requests for specific teachers must have parent signature and be turned into the front office before July 31, 2010. Teacher requests are not guaranteed. • Students are not permitted to drop or change courses after the 1st 10 days of school. When you sign up for a yearlong course, you are committing to that course for the entire year.
