  1. Welcome to Kindergarten Parent Night!

  2. Money • All money must be in a labeled envelope. • Money must be in separate envelopes for different things. Child’s Name Alberstadt/K Lunch money/snack/ field trip

  3. Snack Time We will go outside to play during our snack/ recess time. Please send only one snack and a drink. Send snack in a separate labeled brown bag or plastic baggie. Clip the edges of bags to ease with opening. Kindergarten will only order from the snack bar on Special Snack Day!

  4. ArrivalThe first day of school you may walk your child to our classroom. After the first day, your child needs to walk into the building on his/ her own. Kindergarteners will be greeted by lots of teachers eager to help them to the designated area. Please remember that school and morning work begin at 7:40. The students are marked late at 7:55.

  5. Dismissal • Please send your child home the first day of school the way they will go home all year! • Students will always need a note if their dismissal way changes. • If your child is a bus rider, practice the bus number and first or second run. • Car riders will listen for their name to be called.

  6. Classroom RulesFollow directions quickly.Raise your hand for permission to speak.Keep your hands and feet to yourself.Make smart choices.Keep your dear teacher happy! • Red Light- Sad Face • Yellow Light- Straight Face • Green Light- Happy Face

  7. Field Trips Kindergarten will order a Field Trip t-shirt. These shirts are for safety purposes. Each class will have their own color shirts. Kindergarten will go on about 5 field trips. We will go skating once a month.

  8. Reading Letter/ sound of the Week… Vocabulary Words… vocabulary tests are usually given every other Friday. Weekly Homework Study vocabulary Letter/ sound of the week Read Take Home Reader ( this goes home on Tuesday) Daily homework on the homework calendar

  9. Monthly Skills Calendar A skills calendar will go home every month. On this you will find our thematic unit of study, vocabulary words to learn at home, the letter/ sound of the week and other important information. This should be kept in a safe place.

  11. Parties/ Celebrations We will have a Christmas Party and an Easter Egg Hunt. All other holidays we can have a special treat. Birthdays: Please have your birthday snack cleared through the nurse. We have several students with nut allergies. I can pass this out at snack time.
