  1. Planning, preparation and conducting TQS in Tajikistan Agency on statistics under the President of Tajikistan

History • Quarterly HBS in Tajikistan conducted according the Decree of the Government of Tajikistan #497, October 1, 2008, starting January 1, 2009 with sampling size 3000 households, of witch 1150 in urban area and 1850 in rural area. HBS included 5 regions: • Dushanbe – 400 • Sogd region – 860 • Khatlon region – 900 • BMAR – 240 • RSD-600

  3. Main purpose of HBS • Statistics of household budgets (family) is one of the sectors of socio-economic statistics, which studies the standard of living and, mainly, its financial condition. Survey materials gives an objective picture of the state of and changes in the level and structure of income and expenditure, consumption and accumulation of various groups of the population, allow us to establish differences depending on the age and sex composition of the family ,. Budget Survey contains information on the role of the individual sources in the formation of revenues, depending on the level of consumer income, allow us to study the dynamics of consumer demand. • These household budget surveys (households), in addition to the immediate characteristics of the living standards of certain social groups, are widely used in a variety of economic and statistical calculations: • in the calculation of gross domestic product and its distribution: • while the real incomes of the population calculations: • for drawing up the balance of production and use of agricultural products: • when calculating the cost of living index (consumer price indices for goods and services); • the system of national accounts, where the figures for the household sector occupy a leading position, and so on.

Since 2013 the World Bank's recommendations in the framework of the project for the improvement of the HBS in the Republic of Tajikistan, the annual assessment of the level of poverty in the Republic of Tajikistan;

Plan for future At the initiative of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the World Bank on the recommendation of consultants  The project to improve the household budget survey is being developed methodology of integrated surveys of living standards and labor.It is envisaged to amend the questionnaires, sampling methodology change, the organization of the field work, data management, and presents the results.Proposed changes in the HBS methodology will serve to create a more advanced database and obtain timely results and thus serve as a further improvement of statistical data.

Expected results The information will not be a once-time as it was before, and on a regular basis (quarterly and annual) and will include the following metrics: The poverty rate (annual) (income and expenditure) The level of public health, the assessment of health services and expenditure Attendance of educational institutions and education spending Employment and unemployment Migration (internal, external migration and remittances) Variety Power of individual population groups (women and dety) tobacco use and problems connected with health

  11. Integration of QTS (SESRIC project) • 1. Workshop in Ankara and study tour to TurkStat (May 2016); • 2. Training for interviews (after workshop in Ankara) for 500peoples • 3. Revision the questionnaire • 4. Field works (sampling size 3000 households) and monitoring (3 quarter 2016); • 5. Data entry and processing (4 quarter 2016) ; • 6. Sending data bases to SESRIC (1 quarter 2017);
