  4. School-Wide Procedures

  5. Requesting to see a Principal or Counselor • Find the person you need to speak with during morning announcements • Ask him/her to place you on schedule • Attend regular classes until called to meet with him/her

  6. Classroom Procedures

  7. Beginning Class • Gather materials • Pencil • Journal/Notebook • iPad • Copy/Highlight learning goal for your class • Begin responding to journal (10 minutes)

  8. Room Ambassador • Sign up for room ambassador at the beginning of class • Greet guests who enter the room • Answer telephone when Mrs. Law is teaching

  9. Attending Skills • Mrs. Law raises hand and asks for attending skills • Stop what you are doing • Face Mrs. Law, giving appropriate eye contact • Give your attending skills • Remain quiet and respectful • Ask questions to clarify and validate

  10. Restroom? • Politely ask to go to the restroom • Get process point sheet signed with time and destination • Return to class promptly

  11. Absent/Tardy • Absent: • On the day you return, place a post-it note on the parking lot to get missed assignments • Check make-up binder for openers • Ask questions to clarify understanding • Complete work promptly • Tardy: • Enter room quietly • Give note to Mrs. Law • Begin working on the bellwork • If you have missed bellwork, ask Mrs. Law or a fellow student for instructions

  12. Finished Early? • Double check your assignment to make sure it is an example of your best work • Ask Mrs. Law or teaching partner to look over your work • Offer to assist another student who is not finished • Check your make up for make up work • Ask permission to silently read or work on another educational task

  13. Class Dismissal • Mrs. Law will give a last 20 minute alert • Put away materials /Clean area around your desk • U DECIDE! Time • Reflect on daily learning via discussion or exit slip • Leave the classroom when given permission from teacher

  14. Classroom Emergency • Remain calm • Delegate one student to get another teacher • Delegate one student to make a call to the office • If teacher asks you to clear the room, do so quickly and move to the hallway quietly.

  15. School Emergency During Class • Severe Weather • Line up single file • Follow teacher to designated area • Sit in correct position until given an all clear • Fire • Line up single file • Follow teacher to designated area • Stand with classmates until cleared to return to the classroom

  16. Lock Out/Lock Down • Lock Out • Remain in classroom until given an all clear • Continue class as usual • Lock Down • Sit in a protected area that is not visible from a window or door • Remain quiet and still until cleared to resume class

  17. The 10 P’s • Prompt • Prepared • Polite • Produce Quality Work • PMA • Professional Dress • Proper use of Technology/ Equipment • Participate • Present • Proper Language
