PERSONAL MEDIA INVENTORY… The media inventory presents media that surround our life in an everyday basis. The media are the television, cellular phone, Internet and movies.
The integration of advanced technologies with the traditional communication methods continually evolves thus enabling continuous methods of mass media to the public to further evolve as well. At any given moment, individuals have access to information for an array of purposes including research and entrainment (Bucy, 2005).
In conducting the personal media inventory it was revealed that media access is a constant aspect of daily routine; often without even realizing that it is occurring. The personal media inventory communicates how media is a part of daily routine and occurs throughout the day through various venues.
The average person is exposed to a significant amount of media regularly. From the time a person awakens in the morning, interacts publicly, and goes to sleep at night, he or she may have been exposed to 8-12 hours or more of media (broadcast, static images, or written).
