  1. Lunch Time Expectations 2013-2014

  2. At Palmer Jr. Middle School • No one has the right to interfere with the learning, safety, or well-being of others. • The expectation for all students is that you do what is expected, to the best of your ability.

  3. Conversation • Level 2 • At lunch you should be speaking in a conversational tone • Only the people next to you and across from you should be able to hear you when you talk! • Please do not yell or scream

  4. Help • If you need help or assistance in the cafeteria, there are several adults that you can talk to by speaking to them politely • Lunch Monitors • School Chefs • Custodians • Electives Teachers • Principals (if they are in the Cafeteria!)

  5. Activity • At lunch, you should be eating your food and visiting with your friends • Please do not play with your food • Please do not take other peoples’ food • Please do not harass or bully others • No students are allowed to go to the lockers or be in the halls during lunch UNLESS you have a library pass, or a pass from a classroom teacher

  6. Movement • Kids are free to move around during lunch… but with a few rules: • Please do not run • Please do not leave a mess on the table when you move from your seat • Please do not take cuts in line or steal seats • Please raise your hand after you’ve finished eating to be excused from the table

  7. Participation • You are expected to behave appropriately and politely during lunch • Please use “please” and “thank you” when asking for something • Please treat the monitors, custodians, clean-up crew members, and school chefs with respect at all times • Please eat your food – do not play with it or throw it

  8. Success! • By following these rules, you will be sure to have full access to your lunch privileges for the entire school year! Should you not, you may forfeit your rights to your “free” lunch time.
