  3. VISION, MISSION AND AIMS OF PACLIG • The Constitution of PACLIG is subordinate to the Constitution of the Association and therefore the purpose of PACLIG is to contribute to the achievement of the vision, mission and aims of the Association as stated in the LIASA National Constitution

  16. ACTIVITIES ATTENDED BY THE CHAIRPERSON Library Week Launches, Training Workshops, Library Charter Imbizo, Conferences Tshwane Librarians Forum, Panel discussions etc.

  17. WAY FORWARD • Attending all of the above workshops and events,I feel positive about the future of Public and Community Libraries in South Africa and therefore also positive about the role PACLIG has played this year in contributing to these activities. I believe that the role of PACLIG and our inputs at the various levels of Government will become even more important in future. Let us never forget for whom we are doing it!

  18. CONCLUSION • LIASA PACLIG can feel proud about what has been achieved this year. • Taking in consideration the problems like staff shortages etc. PACLIG has been visible and active in most Provinces. • I wish the new committee every success for their term in office and would like to extend my thanks to the current PACLIG EXCO the Branch Convenors and all the PACLIG members for their support and encouragement offered during our term of office.
