A Concept for the Digitisation of the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage (2005) 28th Conference of the European Board of National Archivists (EBNA) 15th Meeting of the European Archives Board (EAG) • Defines the goal, objectives and principles for digitising the cultural heritage; • Sets common selection criteria for objects to be digitised; • Provides for long-term preservation and access of the cultural heritage. 5

Strategy for the Digitisation of the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage (2009) pursues the following objectives: 28th Conference of the European Board of National Archivists (EBNA) 15th Meeting of the European Archives Board (EAG) • Establishment of competence centres within memory institutions; • Development and implementation of a virtual cultural heritage system; • Creation of seamless digital content of the cultural heritage and ensuring its reliable functionality; • Standardisation of digitisation, preservation and access workflows; • Encouraging initiatives on cultural heritage access. 6
