Roles and Responsibilities • Roles: • Representative of ‘management’ • Team champion and leader • Organizational networker • Responsibilities: • Establish and maintain high performance standards through functions of planning, organizing, directing, controlling • Communicate effectively at all levels in the organization to represent the multiple constituencies

Rewards and Challenges • Rewards • Potential to magnify your contributions to the organization by working through others • Opportunity to impact the development of others • Opportunity to develop other skill sets, like leadership and team development • Challenges • Rarely have adequate training • Often is intimidating to be ‘enforcer’ of wide range of organizational policies and procedures • Seldom have enough time • Frequently feel very alone • Sometimes feel overwhelmed and stressed out
