Overview • Objectives • Review purpose of MMMB specification • Determine next steps • Background • MMMB spec was developed with objective of encouraging terminal vendors to initiate development of terminal capable of supporting interstandard roaming • Defined terminal was to be mid to high tier device with enough features to make it an everyday phone as opposed to a roaming specific phone • MMMB device should also be attractive to GSM operators in order to help drive volume • Spec is not intended to be stand alone document

Next steps • After final review, make MMMD spec a CDG Reference Document • Review with carriers; demonstrate support for specification by supporting cover-sheet with signature • CDG role on specification will end at this point • Individual carriers to call out MMMB reference document as baseline technical specification and add carrier specific items • CDG will facilitate carrier-to-carrier discussion if required and requested
