  3. Needs flexible search interface, and data validation

  4. With metadata

  5. Generate different reports • By feature type • By admin region • By grid • Etc.

  6. Future functionality: mapping

  7. Status: working prototype being tested by EMA; requested enhancements being added

  8. Future Plans: • Find willing partner to work with • Develop methodology for data collection and maintenance – community involvement • Incorporate various UNGEGN guidelines • Liaise with UNSD and UNGEGN working group • Organize training on methodology and tool for member States • Develop standard national databases

  9. Future Plans • Consolidate national databases into a regional database as part of the proposed ARSDI and UNSDI

  10. Organize a pre-CODIST workshop on geographical names • If database tool is ready, could be a hands-on training workshop
