  2. Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA. • It was built in 1799. • This city was named Washington in honour of the first President of the USA. • It is situated on the Potomac River.

  3. The central place of the city is the Mall. • This is a large open space, • a park, stretching from the building of the Capitol to Lincoln Memorial, with Washington Memorial in the middle. • The Mall is often used by people meetings, picnics, games, concerts, etc.

  4. The capital • This is the official symbol of the government. The Senate and the house of representatives work here.

  5. The white house • This is the official residence of the president of the USA. Now the president of the USA is Barrack Obama. He works and lives here.

  6. The Lincoln Memorial • This Memorial was built in honour of the 16th president of the USA. • This is the 19-foot statue of Abraham Lincoln inside the temple.

  7. The Washington Memorial • This Memorial was built in honour of the 1st president of the USA George Washington. • It is the highest monument in the city. • There are 50 flags around this monument, because of 50 states of the USA.

  8. The Jefferson Memorial • This is the Jefferson Memorial. • It is built in honour of the political worker Thomas Jefferson. • He was the leader of the revolution of the USA.

  9. This is the Memorial to the war in Vietnam

  10. My dream is to visit Washington D.C. because I want to see all these sights. I hope I will do it.
