  3. GENERAL UNDERSTANDING In this section, you will be able to learn about the definition of domain name, hosting, website, blog or weblog, social networking site, CMS and reasons behind creating a weblog.

  4. WHAT IS WEBSITE? A website, also written Web site, web site, or simply site, is a collection of related web pages containing images, videos or other digital assets. A website is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such as the Internet or a private local area network through an Internet address known as a Uniform Resource Locator. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the World Wide Web.

  5. WHAT IS DOMAIN NAME? Domain Name System, or DNS, is the most recognized system for assigning addresses to Internet web servers (aka "Internet hosts"). Somewhat like international phone numbers, the domain name system helps to give every Internet server a memorable and easy-to-spell address. Simultaneously, the domain names keep the really technical IP address invisible for most viewers..   6. WHAT IS WEB HOSTING? Hosting (also known as Web site hosting, Web hosting, and Webhosting) is the business of housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web sites. More important than the computer space that is provided for Web site files is the fast connection to the Internet. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

  9. WHAT ARE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES? Social networking sites are web pages that facilitate for friendly and active interaction among members. Most social networks are Internet based and aim to provide various and interesting means on how uses can interact. Such features may include instant messaging, video calling, chat, file sharing, discussion groups, voice chats, emails, blogging and so on. If you are currently a user of Myspace, Facebook or Friendster, you know exactly how social network sites work.
