  2. Who celebrates Kwanzaa Today, about one in seven African-Americans celebrates Kwanzaa.

  3. Why Kwanzaa Is Celebrated Kwanzaa is celebrated because African-Americans want to remember their cultures and traditions.

  4. Where and When it is Celebrated Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated in the U.S. and Africa. The celebration honors African heritage in African American culture, it is also observed from December 26th to January 1st .

  5. Symbols • These are some of the symbols of Kwanzaa • Mazao (The crops) • Mkeka(the mat) • Kinara (the candle holder) • Muhindi (The corn) • Mishumaa Saba (The 7 candles)

  6. Traditions Kwanzaa's traditions are having a good time while dancing and doing plays and skits with friends

  7. Clothes Traditional African clothing is worn normally during Kwanzaa. Women tend to wear a buba while the men can put on a kanza. This African American holiday's colors include green, red, and black

  8. Foods Some foods eaten during Kwanzaa include collard greens and Gumbo Ya Ya. Gumbo Ya Ya is a cross between soup and a stew.
