Steps Forward is a transformative educational program aimed at promoting good health through community involvement. Trained health promoters educate participants on preventing heart disease and diabetes, understanding risk factors, coping with stress, and leading a smoke-free life. Launched initially as a pilot project from 2003-2004, it continued from 2004-2009 with CDC funding. Participants benefit from lower cholesterol levels, reduced blood pressure, and improved physical fitness through walking groups and classes, fostering healthier lifestyles for individuals and their families.
