  8. Successes/Best Practices • Sponsoring Two Successful Professional Conferences During Tight Economic Times. • Maintaining Our Membership with a 3.33% Gain Over the Previous Year.

  9. Challenges • Recruit New Volunteers to serve on the Executive Committee • Refresh Our Membership with New Members & Volunteers

  10. Lessons Learned • Difficulty in Recruiting Volunteers to Serve on the Executive Committee • Difficulty of Successfully Restarting a Student Chapter after a Lapse in Activity.

  11. Goals for Next Year • To Recruit 2 Candidates for each Position on the Executive Committee • Recruit More Members into the Cedar Rapids Section - ³7%.

  12. Region 4 Could Most Help My Section By… • Supplying Practical Techniques for Developing Volunteers into Candidates for the Executive Committee i.e. for Chairman, Vice-Chair, etc. • Providing Practical Methods for Developing Volunteers from among the Student Membership.

Summary • Many Volunteers Provide Core Strength of the CR Section • Under the Aegis of PACE the CR Section • Sponsors Two Professional Conferences • Supports Three Student Competitions • Organizes Support for Engineering Week Activities • Conducts 9-12 Diverse Section Meetings/Year • Funds & Updates Professional Website • Publishes Monthly “Corona” Newsletter • Electronically on Website and • Hard copy via USPS • Student Members Supported by Student Section and Faculty Facilitators at Two Universities & Two Colleges
