  2. History Red Robin Motto • Red Robin started out as a tavern in the 1940’s near the University of Washington by Sam. It was named “Sam’s Red Robin” in the late 1940’s • Red Robin was founded on four core values: Honor, Integrity, Continually Seeking Knowledge, and Having fun. • In 1973, Red Robin went from creating cellophane wrapped sandwiches to their most popular item, Gourmet Burgers. Products • Specializes in fast food, most popular being, hamburgers. • Items on the menu include hamburgers, salads, chicken sandwiches, wraps, variety of beverages etc. • Red Robin restaurants also offer vegetarian options. Important Dates • In 2005, Red Robin was honored with Restaurant Hospitality’s Chain of the year award. • In 2007, Red Robin’s president and chief operating officer, Eric Houseman, is the recipient of the forty under 40 award presented by the Denver Business Journal • In 2009, Word of God Catholic School in Pittsburgh, Pa. was named the 2008-2009 Red Robin U-ACT Champion School and received a grant for $20,000 for the Unbridled Acts their school participated in over the course of the school year.
