Tasks • Everyone must read the “intro.” and “summary” from shmoop.com (Friday) • Individuals will be assigned a specific “book” for which they will be responsible (Friday) • Individuals are responsible for carefully reading the summary of that specific book also located on shmoop.com (Friday) • Individuals are responsible for reading and understanding the first 40 lines from the book s/he was assigned (Monday) • I will provide a copy of this on Monday

  3. Assessments (all on test next Friday) • Summary of the complete poem as well as the context within which it was written • Summary of the “book” individual was assigned • Rewriting of a quote of at least two lines • These do not need to be recited, but written word for word (transcribed by memory) • Context must be explained • Reason for memorizing that quote/significance

  4. Assessment (Monday and Tuesday) • Image presentation (groups) • Create an image from the first 40 lines of your assigned “book” • Provide a quote that matches that image • Explain and present • Context of the quote (including summary of “book” • “book” and line numbers from which the quote comes • Why you chose this quote/significance • Book and line numbers

  5. Test (Work in Progress) • Friday, February 17 • Paradise Lost • Summaries and memorized lines • Romantic Poets • Information from slides, vocabulary, discussion of Romanticism
