Developing a relationship with God INTRODUCTION: 1. This is one of the Psalms of that celebrate the millennial reign of Christ. 2. It (this Psalm) can describe the Exodus from Egypt; the return of the Ark of the Covenant: and the reign of Christ among the people after the rapture! 3. It is a song of travel and observation (physically and spiritually)
Developing a relationship with God OVERVIEW: Verse 1-6 – Tell about what God does for People Verse 7-18 – Tells about God leading His people from Egypt to the promised land Verses 19-31 – Tells about God’s leadership and protection and the people’s observations. Verses 32-35 – Tells us to worship and praise God for what He has done.
Developing a relationship with God • IF YOU HAD TO PUT THE PHRASE: “WHEN I THINK OF THE GOODNESS OF JESUS”, INTO A BIBLICAL VERSE – IT COULD EASILY BE VERSES 15-18 • IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE EVERYTHING THAT GOD HAD DONE: HIS PROTECTION, HIS SALVATION, AND HIS JUSTICE – VV. 19-23
Developing a relationship with God c. AS YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE, THE CHRISTIAN OUGHT TO REFLECT ON WHAT HEAVEN MAYBE LIKE WITH THE ACTIVITIES AND PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE FAMILIAR – SINGING, CHOIRS, FAMILY, ALATRS, WORSHIP, PRAISE, ETC.. REMEMBER, THIS IS THE HOPE OF YOUR FUTURE – VV. 24-28
DEVELOPING A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD d. WE MUST REALIZE THAT GOD REQUIRES WORSHIP AND GIVING FROM EVERYONE, REAGRDLESS OF THEIR STATUS, SOCIALLY, ECONOMICALLY, POLITICALLY, ETC.. VV. 29-31, (KINGS, BULLS, CALVES, BEASTS, EVEN THOSE WHO CAN NOT GET ALONG WITH ANYONE, AS WELL AS THOSE WHO SAY THAT THEY WILL NEVER WORSHIP GOD!(V.30c, 31)
Developing a relationship with God e. NEVER STOP WORSHIPPING OR PRAISING GOD IN “HIS” SANCTUARY (IN YOUR LOCAL HOME CHURCH) REGARDLESS OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. ALWAYS REALIZE THAT HE IS THE ONE WHO GIVES STRENGTH AND POWER TO HIS PEOPLE. – STRENGTH = THE ABILITY TO ENDURE HARDSHIP; POWER = THE COURAGE TO FACE CHALLENGES. VV. 32-35
