  2. History • Domino’s pizza was founded by Tom Monahan and his brother James in 1960. • Domino’s pizza was beginning to serve in 1960 too. • Domino’s always celebrates on their 50th anniversary.

Growth of the company • In 1995 Domino’s went international and opened a store in Belgium. • By 1978 Domino’s opened its 200th store and its 5000th store in 1989. • The 6000th store was opened in San Francisco in 1989 • Throughout the growth of the company, they went to employing 145,000th people world-wide

  4. Product • The original menu included only pizza and coke. • In 1989 domino’s introduced a deep dish pizza. • To keep up the competition, Domino’s changed their pizza sauce and dough recipes in 201o.

  5. Impact on Michigan • Domino’s headquarters are in Ann Arbor ,Michigan. • They employed from two to 145,000 employees world-wide. • The headquarters was in Michigan to symbolize Michigan’s farming history and goods used in their products. • In 2004 Domino’s began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol DPZ.

  6. Interesting Facts • Tom Monaghan purchased the Detroit Tigers in 1983. The very next year the Tigers won the World Series. • Tom sold the Tigers to Mike Ilitch, owner of Little Caesers-a major competitor. • In 2011 Domino’s Pizza raised more than 2.46 million dollars for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
