  3. PROJECT GOAL The main goal of this project is to improve the scanner availability and surface visibility scanning.

Unavailability of scanners. Impending deterioration of scanning performance. Ease access and strengthen accountability. Inventory of scanners

  5. SCANNER PROBLEM • Lowering scanning rate • Shortage of Scanner/Unavailability • Slow Operation/Processing • Poor Access • Marked Scanner Screen • Unaccounted employees for scanners • Lack of scanner holder being used • Poorly charged scanners

  6. Lack of scanner availability may reduce scanning score. Mismanaged/inadequately charged scanners may affect scanning performance. Unavailability of scanners IMPACT TO OPERATION

  10. CRAFT EMPLOYEES Improve the accountability for scanner check out. Craft employees must fill-out the sign out sheet before taking the scanner. Scanners must be returned to the dock/charging stations immediately after use. Employees should not forget to fill-out the sign in portion of the sheet after returning the scanner. INITIAL SOLUTIONS

  11. SUPERVISORS Obtain spare key for scanner doors. Supervisors/Team Leaders on respective tours should have duplicate keys for their scanner doors. Enforce strict compliance of the use of sign-in sheet. Conduct a stand up talk to remind all employees being accountable for every scanner they take. INITIAL SOLUTIONS

  12. 132 cradles/charging stations are available. Out of the total 132 cradles/chargers, approximately 38 scanners are only available. INVENTORY

  13. RECOMMENDATIONS Designate/assign a number of scanners to respective operations. Scanners should be stationed at the supervisor’s desk. IMPROVE

  14. IMPROVE RECOMMENDATIONS • Cradles and scanners will be stored inside the cabinet. • Cabinet should be locked at all times. Lock codes should only be provided to supervisors, alternates, and team leaders.

  15. ALTERNATIVE The RX14-30 mobile cabinet is ruggedly constructed of 16-ga. CRS and includes heavy-duty casters.
