The Bahamas: A Tropical Gem of History, Culture, and Governance

Explore the beauty of the Bahamas, an archipelago characterized by its tropical marine climate, influenced by the Gulf Stream. Governed by a Prime Minister and a majority rule voting system, the Bahamas has a unique economy centered around its currency, the Bahamian Dollar. Historically significant, it was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and faced the challenges of slavery, which was eventually abolished in 1838. With a population of approximately 305,000, the culture is predominantly Christian, with English as the main language spoken.
