  1. The cricket hypothesis By The Scientists (aka mason steiner and micahcanales)

  2. purpose The purpose for this experiment is to see the effect of temperature and pressure on how many times a cricket will chirp Also the effect of altitude on pressure and temperature.

  3. hypothesis We think that as the crickets go up the amount of chirping will decrease because the temperature should decrease, affecting the crickets. We also think the temperature and pressure should go down as we go up, because the altitude will increase

  4. Procedure We are going to send up a barometer, thermometer, audio recorder, and crickets up in our gondola and see the correlation between our readings and the crickets chirps. We hooked up our thermometer and barometer to a LabQuest which should record our data.

  5. Data

  6. conclusion To conclude the crickets did not chirp but our readings did show that as we went up the temperature went up and the pressure went down. Usually as altitude increases temperature goes down, but we think that due to the time of day we launched the balloon, the sun played a role in our temperature readings
