  2. Imagine!

  3. Our Concerns: • 2008 and 2011 Mission Studies: • “Feel like a divided church” • Unwilling “to accept what is best for the church community as a whole” • Declining membership and attendance • Perception of visitors • Inability to “fit in” church wide education and fellowship • Wise use of our resources

  4. Membership

  5. Average Attendance

  6. Our Hopes and Dreams: • To be more welcoming! • To be more accepting and inclusive! • To share our traditions and experience new things! • To worship in celebration and contemplation! • To grow individually and as a body! • To be a brighter light to each other, to our visitors, and to our community! • To seek and understand God’s will.

  7. Process • Mission Studies (Sept. 2008 / April 2011) • Imagine Letter (August 2011) • Cottage Meetings (October 2011) • Goal and Objectives (December 2011) • World Café (January 2012) • Congregational Meeting (January 2012)

  8. Our Vision and Objectives!!! Increase our spiritual energy, become a closer church family, and joyfully be God’s hands and feet. • Brings us together as a church family • Multi-generational worship and consistent worship schedule • Spiritual and intellectual Christian education • Attract and retain new people and families • Energizing mission, outreach and service

  9. Priority – Sunday Morning! Where the church family comes together for worship, nurture and fellowship. • Consistent, unifying, and welcoming • Involves and appeals to all generations • Opportunity to learn and grow • Opportunity to connect and share

  10. Worship as one body… New and innovative with familiar elements • Lead by the Spirit. • Built by the pastors, lay leadership, and congregation. • For the entire church family. • To speak to our community now and in the future.

  11. Learn and connect as one body… A time for study and a time for fellowship: • Education – 9:00 am • Worship – 10:00 am • Fellowship – 11:15 am

  12. A work in process... This is an ongoing vision! • The objectives are integrated and interactive. • We are fleshing out the other objectives. • We will continue to refine all the objectives.

  13. Change… • A risk • A chance to grow • Frightening • Challenging • Exciting …join in the journey!
