  1. Smart Systems on the Kenosha campus

  2. Switch it on • Turn on the computer associated with the system • Might be hidden in a cabinet • Works as a regular computer independent of the Smart System

  3. Switch it on • Activate the Smart System

  4. Wall panel (A112, A113, A115, A116, A138) Press the “on” button and wait until it stops flashing.

  5. Unibar (A130, A203, A221, A226, A228) Use the mouse to roll the cursor off the right edge of the computer screen. A bar will appear. Click “SYS-ON.”

  6. Desk panel (A114, A219, S137, T130) Touch the blank screen of the small panel built into the desk. A message will appear with instructions to touch the screen again to turn the system on.

  7. X-Panel (A104, A201, S125) Locate the icon on the desktop that says “Xpanel” or “Shortcut to Control System.” Click on it.

  8. Selecting presentation tools • Document camera • TV/DVD • PC • Laptop • Whiteboard

  9. Unibar Roll cursor to the right side of the computer screen. Menu options will appear.

  10. Wall panel Select option from panel.

  11. Desk panel Options appear on screen.

  12. X-panel Use the mouse to choose from the options on the computer screen.

  13. Lowering the screen Most screens will lower when the system is activated, but there is a control switch on the wall to raise and lower the screen manually.

  21. Whiteboard tools • Select a “marker” color from the round buttons at the top of the computer monitor.

  23. Other tools • Systems have different software to create “projects” with Smart tools (screen captures, etc.)

  24. Shutting it down • All the systems have clearly labeled “OFF” or “SHUT DOWN” commands on the command screens.

  25. Troubleshooting • I’m playing a video, but there’s no sound. • If playing from the computer, computer sound might be muted. • Amp volume might be turned down.

  26. Troubleshooting • The Smart System is on and the projector is on but only showing a blue screen even though I selected a tool.

  27. Troubleshooting • Possibly the switcher has been turned off accidentally. • If not, it’s a job for the computer techs.

  28. Troubleshooting • I shut the system down, but the projector stayed on. • Turn back on and power down • Reboot computer
