  2. Stats for 2012 Season Rushing Passing Att.: 132 Comp.: 70 Yards: 857 TDs: 5 Int.: 2 • Total Carr.: 338 Yards: 1734 TDs: 23 • QB’s Carr.:155 Yards: 526 TDs: 6 • RB’s: Carr.: 183 Yards: 1208 TDs:17

  3. Why the Gun Option? • Ability to Control the defense • Defense must account for QB as a running threat • Control & dictate defenses • Does not give defenses any advantages • Force the defense to defend the whole field • Force the defense to play option responsibilities • Confuse the defensive players

  4. Why the Gun Option? • Hardest play to defend. Assignment Football. • Great equalizer when you don’t have the size to effectively block one-on-one • Creates mismatches in secondary to better open up the passing game • Allows you to scheme – thus having the ability to defeat a defense made up of better athletes • It takes the defense out of their comfort zone

  5. Why the Gun Option? • Gives QB better view • More time spent on throwing mechanics, reads, & less on steps • Gives the illusion that the team is a passing/finesse team • Can be effective with lesser size on the offensive line Offensive Line size: Not very big, but strong & quick RT – 5’11” 220lbs RG – 5’10” 233lbs C – 5’11” 225lbs LG – 5’11” 260lbs LT – 5’9” 230lbs

  6. Why the Gun Option? • In the option game, it slows the read down for the QB • Gets the ball into the players hands quicker • Perimeter Screen game is more effective • Fly Sweep is more potent • Create game breaking plays(+20yds) • Maximize the potential of our players • Ability to utilize the offensive scheme in every situation • Not as predictable • Create an attitude of confidence by our players, can score from anywhere on the field
