Vision Statement Our vision is of an equitable world where rights and dignity of persons with disability are realized and where they participate fully and effectively in society leading to a good quality of life. [1] [1]Here we speak of the holistic development of the PWD in all spheres of life

Purpose The purpose of CBRF is to work with all PWDs, their families, communities, organizations and institutions[1] on empowerment and inclusion[2] of PWDs by facilitating disabled people’s organizations and networking at local, national and international levels to address the gaps[3] that exist at various levels.[4] Our priority groups among PWDs are:- poorest of the poor in unreached rural or urban areas- people with multiple and severe disabilities - children and women [1]PRI, PHC, SSA, ICDS, government, other national bodies, collectives, networks, partner NGOs[2]in line with Article 3 : General Principles UNCRPD [3]Policy and law gap, Participation gap, Stigma and exploitation gap, Inclusion gap, Resource gap: Technical and Financial and Human Resource gap. [4]Village, Gram Panchayath, Block, District, State, National

Working in partnership with 32,669 Persons with Disabilities with a focus on empowerment and inclusion of PWDs Rural areas Tribal / hilly areas Drought prone Coastal Our priority groups - people with multiple and severe disabilities - children and women Working with 70 partner NGOs across 16 states of India Statistical data as on 31 March 2012

Our Strategies- emphasis is on RBA • CBRF will work with individual NGO partners through Block/ Mandal Level CBR Programmes: covering around 30 revenue villages (approx 300 PWDs) in rural India through a CBR Programme for the promotion of the rights of PWDs. • CBRF will work with a group of 5 – 9 NGOs in a remote District through District Level Initiatives: each of these partners is expected to cover a minimum of 30 revenue villages (approx 300 PWDs) in rural India through a CBR Programme for the promotion of the rights of PWDs. • CBRF will work with an NGO through Mainstreaming Initiatives: covering the entire work of a Diocese/ Religious Congregation in rural India for the promotion of the rights of PWDs. • CBRF will support short term thematic initiatives which will support the above mentioned strategies of CBRF and promote the participation of NGO partners and DPOs at the district, state and national level.

  9. The team behind it all CBRF has 4 Executive committee members: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The current Governing Body consists of 10 members of which two are institutional members (Caritas India and CBCI). The General Body consists of 15 members.
