Attributes • Attributes are an extension to Elliott database w/o modification • Attributes can be used in CRM for various different tracking purpose • Attributes used in eContact on the Web is like Profiling • Selection based on attributes can be easily handled in Mass Email and Export Processor • V7.1 Attributes Have GUI User Interface • V7.2 Attributes Support Check Box

Creation of Attribute Codes • Create attribute code is the first step to use attributes. • There should be only one person in an organization that can create Attribute codes: • Don’t create different attribute codes to track the same or duplicate info. • Think twice when you create an attribute code – you are doing database design.

Select Attribute in Mass Email • Attribute Field in Customer • For Selecting Customer With An Attribute • Select if the particular attribute exist for the customer • Customer Attribute Folder • For Selecting by Field of an Customer Attribute • Select if the particular attribute exist and the field value match selection criteria • Same Principle Apply to Other Tables

Steps for Setup OE Restriction • Create an attribute code for control purpose. • Decide how to control • Not allow • Restriction when present • Restriction when not present • Add the restriction control • Attach attribute to customers • Inherit customer type attribute • Attach attribute to item • Inherit product category & user defined code attribute

  14. Scenario – Territory Limitation • Can’t sell an item in State of CA • Add an attribute code • Attach to item, product category or user defined code • Add restriction for CA for not allow this attribute

Scenario – License Regulation • State of CA does not allow selling of an item unless reseller is properly licensed by the state and license is not expired. • Add an attribute code with license# & exp. date • Add restriction for CA, restricted when not present for this attribute code • Attach attribute to customer file and record proper license# and exp. Date • Attach attribute to item

Conclusion • Attributes expand Elliott database without modification • Use it for reference/analyzing purpose • Use it for controlling purpose • None real time control • Use Mass Email or Export Processor to retrieve Attribute data • Real time control • In some situations, you can use attribute for order entry restriction control • Setup operation procedures and train users to check attributes at proper point.
