  2. FengShuiHistory • Originated in Yangshao & Hongshan cultures in China before 4000 BC • Original designation for the discipline was Kan Yu. • Astronomy was the original means to find fengshui. • The stars were used to help find the correlation between humans and the universe.

  4. Qi • Pronounced “Chi” • Belief that every location has a natural vital force. • Buildings and furnishings must be laid out in such a way as to be in harmony with the qi. Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water. -The Zangshu, or Book of Burial.".

  5. Polarity/ Yin Yang • The idea that one entity is creating exertion while one is receiving it. • Yang acts as Yin receives. • Within this there is the belief of the Five Elements • Metal • Earth • Fire • Water • Wood
