  3. (2)CURRICULUM • Shading using different tones • Main colours(RED/BLUE/YELLOW) • Secondary colours (ORANGE/PURPLE/GREEN) • WARM Colours(RED/YELLOW/ORANGE) • COOL Colours(BLUE/GREEN/PURPLE)

  4. (3)SYLLABUS • One drawing work and one craft work is introduced every month . • Students are taught Nature study, still life, garden /sea-shore scenes . • In craft work they learn to make rangoli designs • , face masks, flower making, etc.

  6. (2)OBLECTIVES: 1) Group singing brings all voices to a common platform. 2) To introduce the students to different musical Ideas, instruments & genresof Music.

  7. (3)THERE ARE 2 LESSONS OF MUSIC EVERY WEEK

  8. (4)Requirements • Every student from Class 1 should have their calendar and a glue stick . • Every student from class 2 to 5 should have a 100 page exercise bookand stationary box for music class . • Written or Printed lyrics of songs are to be copied or stuck in the calendar or music book. • Parents are requested to check the calendar or music book of their wards on monthly basis, and encourage their kids to sing these songs

(5)Evaluations • Music is a compulsory co scholastic subject of the primary education system. • Evaluation is done twice a year Term 1 in September and Term 2 in March. • For each evaluation the higher grade of 2 rounds of grading, once in May & then in August for Term 1, and once in November and then in February for Term 2 is taken.

(6)Criteria for Evaluations • 1) (Melody Test): A student must sing a song, from the list of songs taught in class. • 2) (Rhythm Test): A student must clap to a song sung or played by the teacher. • 3) (Aural Test):A student must recognice a familiar song played on an instrument (class 1 & 2), must recognize a higher or lower note played on an instrument(class 3 to 5). • 4) New/shy/special students are asked to sing a Nursury Rhyme or National Anthem or clap to a tune for grading.

  11. (7)ACTIVITIES: The day begins with the singing of a prayer song in Hindi or Englishand the Indian National Anthem from the calendar Songs are sung to celebrate most festivals, and special assemblies, like Mothers Day etc Class wise Group Singing competitions will be held.

  13. (9)MISSION OF TEACHING MUSIC • TO STUDENTS OF CLASS III • Classification of Instruments. • Develop sense of pitch, rhythm, & aural awareness . • Starting a song using cues, intros, and fade outs, scale changes

  16. *Attend school regularly and be punctual in all your work. * Make it sure that you attend all PTM S and encourage your child to participate in co-scholastic competitions conducted by the school. • Ensure that your child complete all Homework including holiday homework/activities etc. on time. • Send extra stationaries especially on exam days. * School starts at 7:20am.(morning shift)& 1:30 pm (afternoon shift) Please ensure that your child reaches 5- 10 minutes before the first bell. • * 80% attendance is compulsory for promotion.

  17. Class/home WORK Children are encouraged to do their work regularly on their own. Parents may help/guide them but must refrain from doing the work for them.

  18. The Almanac / School Calendar Please refer to the school Almanac for information. Students MUST bring it to school everyday. This Almanac will tell us about -

SCHOOL BAG • Provide your child with only the necessary things- • The required number of books ( kept according to time table), the school calendar, a rough book , tiffin and water bottle ,proper stationary – erasers, well sharpened pencils & colour pencils. • Parents must check the bag everyday. • Don’t make a habit of sending money to purchase canteen food.

  23. CLASS TEACHER/ NURSE/ COUNSELLOR • Inform the class teacher if the child is undergoing any difficulties regarding health. • Inform school nurse of any allergies • or any other medical problems. • With prior appointment you can avail the services of the school counsellor for parenting practices and child behaviour.

  24. HOW AND WHEN TO MEET A TEACHER Teachers can be met by- • 1. An appointment : by sending a note in the child’s calendar. OR • 2. meeting the teacher in her free lesson or during a recess . • Please do not attempt to contact a teacher while she is teaching in class • .
