SCHOOL • Trainee must complete a four-year program including 6000 workplace hours • 720 in-school hours of training • At BCIT, Okanagan Collage • Requirements are proof of a letter grade of “C” in English 11, or English 12, or EFP, and Apprenticeship and Workplace Math 11
School Costs • A duel credit program at a Collage or Technical school ,the admission fee is paid for by the government • Admission is around $4000 • Books are around $1000
Time and $ • Minimum 8 hour days • 5 days a week • $30-$200 an hour
Working Conditions • working conditions are usually tough • 90% of the work is done outside and shifts are year round • includes lifting parts 100 lbs plus and using heavy tools • the chance of bones getting crushed very easy
