  2. Question 1 The definition of a problemisa perceived gap between an existing state and a desired state. Well-Structured Problems is a problem for which the existing state is clear, the desired state is clear, and how to get from one state to another is fairly obvious, ex. problems that are repetitive and familiar. Because decision making takes time and is prone to error, organizations (and individuals) attempt to program the decision making for well-structured problem. Ill Structured Problems is a problem for which the existing and desired states are unclear, and the method of getting to the desired state is unknown.

  8. Question 4 • Timing : it’s a personalproblemso Bob resolvedthisproblem by himslef(go to workduringhisday-off). • Loss data base : to have exploitable results, he compares the data base with the national average.

  9. Question 5 • After « lenghty discussions », Bob and his bosses Bary and Charles have reach an agreement : use the national averageand the sample of only 3 regions. Marjorie Glass argued Bob by providing information on competitors. Shehelpshim.

  10. Question 6 • Bob isstressed. He asks how hewillpresenthisresults. • Bob omited to say to his bosses that the problem come from to his assistant.

  11. Question 7 • Assistant : It’sethicalbecauseheprotectshis assistant. He take the responsability of loss data base on him. • Loss data base : It’sethical if headvertiseshiscustomerthathelost the data base but herisks to loosehis job. It’s not ethical if not advertiseshiscustomer. Wecanask us whereis the limit of the ethical issue ?

  12. Question 8 • Bob shouldbehonestwith the customer but it’s not necessary to revealthat the loss of data base come fromhis assistant. « The honestyalways pays » « Faultconfessedhalfredressed »
