The Swedish Social Insurance Agency set a significant goal to reduce the gross ill-health measure to 37.0 by the end of 2008. By July 2008, the measure fell below this target. A new objective has now been established, aiming for a value of 27.5 by the end of 2012. For the year 2009, this means that the measure should not exceed 33.5. The agency focuses on reducing sickness absence and is monitoring developments closely, as detailed in the following slide.
