  2. LTU, part of airberlin group • founded 1955 • LTU fleet: 13 A320 and 13 A330 aircraft • Staff (flying): 325 cockpit / 1200 cabin • "Air Berlin GmbH & Co. Luftverkehrs KG", started to operate in 1992 • By 2003 second largest airline in Germany. • Fleet of 131 aircraft flying to 96 destinations (28.6 passengers carried in 2008) • Approx. 8.200 employees • 2004 Air Berlin acquired a 24 per cent stake in flyNIKI Luftfahrt • August 2006 Air Berlin took over dba Luftfahrtgesellschaft München • Since March 2007 Air Berlin PLC has held a 49 per cent share in Belair, • August 2007 Takeover of the Düsseldorf-based airline LTU. • World Travel Award Winner 2008 “World’s Leading Budget Airline” 29 September 2009 LMS Implementation at LTU 2
