  3. Why? *Nearly 70 % school discipline issues happen at the freshmen level. *Freshmen struggle academically and typically need the most intervention (eligibility) *Typically freshmen have a high rate of truancy from after school practices.

  4. Advantages • Making a big school feel small • Opportunities to learn from varsity coaches • Year round practice and skill / strength development (Competitive edge over other schools) • Improve quality of family life

  5. Practice • For the following sports, freshmen practice will be during 1st and 2nd period: Football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, cheer, pom, track, baseball, and softball.

  6. Sample Student Schedule • 7:10 AM Training in sport • 9:10 AM Shower and prepare for school • 9:35 AM 3rd Period (Math) • 10:40 AM 4th Period (English) • 11:35 AM Lunch • 12:25 PM 5th Period (Science) • 1:25 PM 6th Period (Art) • *2:30 PM -5:15 PM 7th Period (History) • * 7th period will only be held on Tuesday & Thursday only. Mon, Wed, Fri students will leave school at the normal release time.

  7. Student Contract • All participants must sign the PRIDE Academy Contract.

  8. Tax Credits • There will be uniform fees. Each program needs to do a tax credit push.
