Final FRCA SOE Course Evaluation

The Final FRCA SOE Course held on November 25-26, 2013, welcomed 37 candidates. Feedback was gathered from 59 forms regarding two days of sessions, including mock exams and group stations. Overall, participants rated the course positively, citing it as non-intimidating with friendly staff and an excellent lunch system. Positive remarks included the informative emails before the course, the quality of the mock viva, and valuable exposure to real exam situations. Suggestions for improvement included increased feedback time and adjustments to lecture length.

  2. Summary Two courses were held Nov 25th – 26th 2013: 37 candidates Nov 26th – 27th 2012: 38 candidates 1= poor 2 = bad 3 = average 4= good 5= excellent Mean scores for each courses are presented Total no. of feedback forms = 59

  3. Day 1: Mock exam and Group sessions

Comments • Non-intimidating • Everyone very friendly and approachable • Excellent lunch system • Emails prior to course were excellent and informative • Mock viva day was excellent • Clinical SOE – good experience of real exam situations • Excellent exposure to questions with plenty of practice

  7. Comments • More time for feedback if possible • ECG lecture could be made shorter with handouts • Found it difficult to not listen to other candidates doing exam at the same time in same room, but maybe this is how it is in the real exam?!
