  2. THE FIRST STEP IN PRODUCING QUALITY WORK IS PRESENTATION. IN THE REAL WORLD, YOUR DESTINY, IN THE WORLD OF WORK PROFESSIONALISM AND THE APPEARANCE OF THE WORK IS AS IMPORTANT OFTEN AS THE CONTENT. STUDENTS NEED TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO MEET THIS DEMAND. THE PRIMARY REQUIREMENT IS LEGIBLE HANDWRITING. THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIREMENTS MADE OF STUDENTS SO THAT THEY MAY ACHIEVE A MASTERY OF WRITING SKILLS ONE AT MURRIETA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

  3. ASSIGNMENT TITLES must be placed on the top line of all assignment papers. STUDENTS NAMES will place their first and last name, class period and date, and assignment title of on all assignments. PENCIL is never acceptable for papers turned in for a grade.

  4. MARKERS AND COLORED PENCILS are unacceptable.INK COLORS: Students use Dark Blue or Black ink. WRITE WITHIN THE MARGINS of lined notebook paper. Top, Bottom, left and right margins Never write on the bottom two lines of the paper. This space is reserved for the instructor’s corrections

  5. SKIP-A-LINEbetween the title at the top of the paper and the opening sentence.FOR ADDITIONAL PAGES, number the pages and write your name on the top line of each page in case the staples come undone.STAPLE THE PAPERSneatly together with the staple being on the upper left corner of the papers.

  6. Use typewriters or computer and printer to avoid issues of handwriting readability.Print your work, use Bookman Old Style 12 point Font (this font). All work turned in must be on entire sheets of paper.

  7. NO HALF SHEETS, torn paper, or papers with tape or stable mends.USE ONE SIDE of the paper.DO NOT DRAW or doodle on papers.

  8. ALL NOTEBOOK PAPER must have four straight edges. tear or neatly cut off the tattered edge caused by removal of the paper from the spiral.CUTS OR TEARS in assignment papers may not extend into the holes punched into the left side of the paper. Do not simply tear your paper out of the binder and rip the paper in the process.

  9. A SIMPLE REMINDER, One typed page equals two or three handwritten pages – depending on the size of the handwriting.

  10. A student’s work represents them. Your work stands in for you as a student and person, be proud of it.

  11. Students are expected to learn these skills and use them when turning in all papers.Papers that have errors based on writing skill one may receive a note stating simply Writing skill one error – please correct.
