  3. Alice Software • Dr. Randy Pausch, was the originator of Alice that innovative educational software environment; which was later taken over by Dr. Wanda Dann in 2008. After working with Dr. Pausch for more than 10 years of partnership, Dr. Dann published a book with the assistance of Dr. Cooper on Alice which tells people how the computer software actually works. During the time Dr. Dann tenure Alice 3 had been released. Alice is an educational program, Great animations, and has different impacts.2

  4. 4 Educational Program Alice is a device designed to be a high school student first exposure to an object-oriented program. It shows students the different learning fundamentals programming concepts. Alice is an interactive interface for students to drag and drop graphic titles to create their own programs. Alice program languages such as Java, C++, and C#. There are two major advantages for the program. First, the program sequences of animations is so that people can see their mistakes and more willingly to fix them. Secondly, it is an drag and drop interface that provides program construction that helped to prevent for errors.3

  5. Alice is a 3D program that is easy to create an animation for telling stories, playing games, or a video to share on the web. Alice was used based off of The Sims animation, the educational software. EA’s animation will help strengthen Alice’s visual and communicative qualities, which will make the students more eager with the program. Also by operating the system it helps students gain the experience with all the programing constructions taught by an introduction course.5 Great Animations

  6. Alice Software • Alice is fun and interesting to use, which never hurts when one is trying to learn something new. It may be critical to effective and efficient learning. Psychologist Jerome Bruner shown that complex bodies of knowledge, such as the ability to develop algorithms to solve technical problems, are best taught if they are introduced gradually, in a playful way, leading into a long and engaging spiral of learning.6 7 The impact

  7. Extra information on Alice • Alice.org is an educational software that teaches students how to use different types of computer programming tools in a 3D environment. It offers students, teachers, and enthusiasts of all ages to use their program to create new ideas, while ultimately gathering a stronger background in programming systems. By learning to use Alice, these different groups of people are allowing themselves to open their minds to a new world of technological advancements.9 8

Extra information on Alice • The reason Alice software succeeds • It removes typing and the ability to make a syntax error. • The changes to the program state are visible and animated. • The drag-and-drop programming paradigm causes Alice to be much more accessible to beginning programming students than languages.11 10

  9. In conclusion Alice software was very complicated when I was introduced to it my junior year in high school. Doing my research on Alice I did not know that it was offered in middle school, which I think it, is a great way to introduce computer software to students. Especially, for students who enjoy animation and wanting to improve their skills in making video animation. Alice by far is one of the best creations ever invented and hopefully next time if I am ever introduced to Alice it will not be as complicated, and it will be an enjoyable software now that I’ve done my research. 12
