  1. “The Boo Radley Game”chapter 4 Fendy Lormine Shera Casseus William Higgins

  2. “The Boo Radley Game” summary • In this chapter Scout figures that she hates school because of the “Dewy Decimal System”. Scout and Jem find money and snacks in a little hole beside the Boo Radley place. • Dill arrives for the summer with crazy stories that any of the children believed. • The children are playing “ Roll in the tire” when the tire rolls with scout in front of the Radles place, scout hears someone laugh inside the house. • Jemcomes up with the “Boo Radley Game”. • Atticus doesn’t want the Children to have fun about the Radley home.

  3. Superstitions about the Radley house • What superstitions do the children have in connection with the Radley house? • Each one of the children has a version of what happened in the Radley’s house. • Jem thinks that Boo Radley died years ago and they Stuffed him up the chimney. • Scout thinks his inside the house and had been there for over 15 years. • Dill thinks that he has been transformed in a monster who eats cats.

  4. The boo Radley Game • Explain the boo radley Game. Do you think this is an accurate version of what happens in the Radleys’ home? Why or why not? • In the Boo Radley Game: • Jem would play Boo, he would hide under the stairs and shriek and howl. And sometimes he would sit on a swing cutting news papers. • Dill would play Mr. Radley (boo’s father) and walk back in forth, coughing. At some point he would cough at Jem and Jem would plunge a scissor in his thigh. • Scout would play Mrs. Radley (Boo’s mother). All she has to do is sweep the yard, loose all her hair, teeth and get her forefinger eat by Boo. • This is not what really happened in the Radley’s house, no body knows what really happened there, because every one has their own version of the story, therefore the story is irreverent. • As for the children., they make the story pretty just to have fun.

  5. Laughter inside Radley’s place • What might have caused the laughter from inside the house? • I personally think that Boo Radley is still inside the house. The laughter came from him because he watches the children play to pass time.

  6. Theme • Childhood Innocence: The children don’t really know what happened in the Radley place, but they continue to make up a series of stories and events, all the while using their imaginations without thinking about consequences . “I don’t think he’s in there. He died years ago and they stuffed him up in the chimney” ( Lee, 39) said Jem Finch.

  7. Character Development Dill Jem • Dill is an interesting character, he always come up with something to keep the children on the hook. Even if he lies like he breaths, he’s not a boring character and the children always look forward to his visits. Scout describes dill’s visit as “ a blaze of glory” (Lee, 36). • Jem maintains his character of big brother, through he’s very imaginative. Scout look to him in a certain way because she refuses to show her fear of the Radley house just because Jem pretends not to be scared of it himself. Scout also considers Jem’s point of view in things, this is revealing when she asked him “ what you reckon we oughta do, Jem” (Lee, 35).

  8. Vocabulary • Vague- not having a precise meaning; not clearly defined • Melancholy- A deep, pensive, and long-lasting sadness • Phenomena- (plural of phenomenon) something that is impressive or extraordinary. • Abominable- detestable, loathsome very unpleasant; disagreeable. • Shriek : to make a loud, high-pitched cry

  9. questions • Why do you think the children are so obsessed about Boo Radley? • What is the singular noun for “Phenomena”? • What does Jem think about Boo Radley?
