This study investigates the impact of light adjustable intraocular lenses (LALs) on refractive errors and visual quality following cataract surgery. Through a wavefront analysis of 64 patients, we measured the adjustments made to control aberrations over a treatment period. Results show that LALs induce minimal high-order aberrations while maintaining visual acuity. The study demonstrates the efficacy of LALs in stabilizing aberrations for up to one year post-surgery, indicating their potential for optimal refractive outcomes.

Conclusions • i) The light adjustment profiles induced small amounts of high order aberrations, except for the myopic astigmatism and myopic treatments • ii) These induced aberrations did not compromise visual acuity • iii) The aberrations in the LALs remained nearly constant up to 1 year post-surgery • iv) These results indicate the potential ability of LALs to effectively control the eye´s aberrations
