  3. Legislative Update Ed reform in the house.  • Assessments are included in the house bill, but nothing formative.  • College Readiness – ACT or SAT, determined by an RFP progress • ITEDs at 10th Grade • End of Course Aligned to Core • Kindergarten Assessment • Value-Added to be chosen by RFP

  4. Legislative Update ContinuedHouse Bill • Third grade retention is delayed until 2016. • Eliminated the scooping of professional development funds. • Will likely vote on final passage today, then send it to the Senate. • Allowable growth still pending.

  7. Iowa Core Update • From the Iowa DE Website: “All school districts and accredited nonpublic schools are required to fully implement the Iowa Core in grades 9-12 by July 1, 2012 and grades K-8 by the 2014-2015 school year.”
