  2. APEX is… • ACTA – Credit Recovery • Credit Recovery uses APEX to suppress a D or an F from a previous course. • ACTV - iHigh • iHigh Virtual Academy uses APEX as its content provider for first time courses. 2

  3. APEX is… • ACTA – Credit Recovery • ACTA appears on the transcript for suppression. • ACTV - iHigh • ACTV will suppress a previous D or F in the same manner as repeating the class. 3

  4. APEX also is…. • ALVS – AP • iHigh uses APEX instructors to teach some AP classes. • Limited number of enrollments due to cost. 4

  5. Credit Recovery • ACTA – Credit Recovery • Credit recovery is not UC approved, • Credit Recovery is not NCAA approved • Credit Recovery will not meet graduation requirements for Class of 2016 and beyond... 5

  7. Successful Programs • Schools Must • Designate an iHigh mentor to coordinate on-site Dual Enrollment program. • Schools Should • Provide an onsite lab in which students are scheduled for one or two periods to work on iHigh courses.

  8. Dual Enrollment Steps • Dual-enroll student with iHigh (Requires Zangle Permissions) • Email mcottrell@sandi.net with student course request. • Distribute passwords, proctor exams, help provide on-site academic support, etc. (Mentors)

  9. Obtaining Mentor Log-ins • Submit Site Information Form (name, site, ID, email, phone) to mcottrell@sandi.net • Email notification with login information.

  10. iHigh Scheduling  Sandi.net/ihigh(For Staff tab) Window opens to do scheduling Closes 2 weeks into the semester. Allows time to balance classes & order books and headsets.

  11. iHigh Courses Courses are color coded to indicate which are available to full time and which are available to dual students.

  12. iHigh Courses Military students have more course options available due to Department of Defense Grant.

  13. iHigh Courses and Forms Please ONLY use the CURRENT courses and forms found on the iHigh website.

  19. Students with IEPs or 504s Schools must provide iHigh with a copy of IEP prior to enrollment, due to limited capacity to make accommodations within the online program.

  20. Student Logins • Mentor passes out the student logins. or • Students email mcottrell@sandi.net to receive their login.

  21. When to Proctor a Test • Students taking regular Core classes should have a proctored mid-term (whichever TST is approximately mid-course) and a proctored final exam.

  22. When to Proctor a Test • Students taking an Advanced Placement course will need all TSTs (unit tests and final exam) to be proctored.

  23. Late Policy • Check with the teacher, each teacher creates a policy and places it in the announcements for students.

  24. Test Security • Unlike the CSTs, which are generated from an item bank and therefore have multiple versions, there is only ONE version of each TST. Therefore…

  25. Test Security • PLEASE print the Teacher-Scored Tests ahead of time and practice vigilant supervision until the student submits the test.

  26. Test Security • Please DO NOT unlock the TSTs for the students, to prevent a situation where a test is left unlocked over time due to the proctor being distracted.
