S2 CfE Dance Task 1 • Choreographer: Get your group to help make up a MOTIF that has each of the 6 action skills (travel, jump, turn, stillness, gesture and transfer of weight) • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. You must submit your EVIDENCE to the class teacher at end of the lesson. • Timekeeper: You have 15mins to keep your team in check. You should also keep the beat/timing of the dance (make sure you team creates between 16 and 32 beats • Director/Producer: Ensure that everyone in your team is involved in the choreography stage, help the Reporter gather evidence/record the dance and keep checking with the timekeeper • Sound and Constume technician: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have any music, costumes or props from the resources available. • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary

S2 CfE Dance Task 2 • Choreographer: Using the the Taught Motif you must produce a dance that has: • 2 different levels • 2 changes of direction • A pathway on the floor • A pathway in the air • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. Must submit your EVIDENCE to class teacher by end of the lesson. • Timekeeper: You have 20mins to keep your team in check • Leader: Ensure that everyone in your team is involved in the choreography stage, help the Reporter gather evidence/record the dance and keep checking with the timekeeper • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary • Production Manager: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have any music, costumes or props from the resources available.

S2 CfE Dance Task 3 • Choreographer: Produce a Motif that has: • The whole group performing in UNISON • The whole group performing in CANON • A duet/partner dance • A solo performance? • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. Must submit your EVIDENCE to the class teacher at the end of the session • Timekeeper: You have 25mins to keep your team in check • Leader: Ensure that everyone in your team is involved in the choreography stage, help the Reporter gather evidence/record the dance and keep checking with the timekeeper • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary • Production Manager: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have any music, costumes or props from the resources available.

S2 CfE Dance Task 4 • Choreographer: • Produce a Question and Answer Motif in your group • Now find another group and teach them your Dance • Learn their Dance • Choose the best one or combine the two • Perform your chosen Dance to the other groups. • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. Must Submit your EVIDENCE of work to Class teacher at end of the session • Timekeeper: You have 15mins to create your group Motif and then 15mins to teach it to another group and learn theirs. • Leader: Ensure that everyone in your team is involved in the choreography stage, help the Reporter gather evidence/record the dance and keep checking with the timekeeper. • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary • Production Manager: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have any music, costumes or props from the resources available.

S2 CfE Dance Task 5 • Choreographer: • .Using the Task Card, get your group to help you make up a phrase or motif that includes all the HIGHLIGHTED skills and qualities indentified. • Perform to another group who will assess by reading the task card and giving you an ‘X’ factor score • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. Must Submit your EVIDENCE of work to Class teacher at end of the session • Timekeeper: You have 20 mins to create and PERFECT your group Motif and then 5mins to PERFORM it to another group. • Leader: Make sure your group are achieving the maximum number of ‘x’ factor point possible. Explain the task to the observing group and be prepared to defend the score your team are given. • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary • Production Manager: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have any music, costumes or props from the resources available.

S2 CfE Dance Task 6 • Choreographer: • Using the secret message cards, get your group to help you make up a phrase or motif • Perform to another group who will guess what your message was. • Perform same motif to at least 2 other types of music • Reporter: Record (Draw/Write) your Dance on paper or video it. Must Submit your EVIDENCE of work to Class teacher at end of the session • Timekeeper: You have 20 mins to create and PERFECT your group Motif and then 5mins to PERFORM it to another group. • Leader: Make sure your group stay on task and have 4,5 or 6 parts to their dance. • Performer: Ensure maximum effort at all times and feed your ideas to the choreographer and leader where necessary • Production Manager: In charge of music, props and costumes – ensure that your group have at least 3 music choices to perform to.
