Technology and Media in Communication • In todays era, technology has conquered all the fields of life. • Teaching and learning of different subjects is facilitated by technology. • Technology has also facilitated the teaching and learning of language. • The learning of language and self learning of language are made possible by technology and media.

Technology and Media in Communication • In this information age, the ability to organize, present and transmit information with clarity, coherence, and precision is the most important skill of today’s era. • Rapid advances in computer technologies for communication provide us with plenty of tools to enhance this ability. • A wide range of user friendly communication tools are now available to improve the effectiveness of formal documents and communication material. • For example, this PPT lecture or the lengthy and voluminous reports can be prepared easily with better speed and efficiency.

Several computer softwares are available for this processes. • Brainstorming toolbox: • It is a special computer software that brings powerful brainstorming, creative thinking, and problem solving tools. • It improves our ability to generate new idea. • It helps to explore the alternative views. • It is a tool that develops and enhances the style and direction of our thinking.

Technology and Media in Communication • Guidelines to achieve effectiveness in all our communication activities that are technological oriented: • Be clear with your purpose • Keep in mind the background of your audience and also your relationship with them. • Consider whether your audience has access to the technology used for communication. • Keep in mind the urgency, duration, cost, and facilities while selecting the technology. • Remember that you use technology for speed and efficiency and not for the sake of using it.
